A round up of some of the most popular car radios on sale in Germany which include features such as DAB+ digital radio. Radios reviewed from brands such as Sony, JVC and AEG.

Ruark has also launched the elegant R4-30, which plays CDs as well as digital radio and provides rge ability to wirelessly stream music.

The contract to manage the installation of Belgian French-language public broadcaster RTBF’s DAB+ rollout has been awarded to Paneda and its local partner Heynen.

Digital Radio UK, together with the Radio Academy Midlands and RadioToday, are to hold a digital radio event in Birmingham on Wednesday 3rd May. Speakers will provide updates on the 70 stations on DAB in Birmingham, the launch of 33 new national and local stations in the last eighteen months, the fourteen DAB stations on the Birmingham mini-mux, and progress on Bauer’s digital strategy and Free Radio Birmingham.

Earlier this year Norway became the first country in the world to begin switching off FM signal in favour if DAB+. Other countries such as Switzerland have also set plans for their digital switchover. In Germany it is hoped the digital switchover will be complete by 2025.

About 58% of the population in the Czech Republic is reached by digital radio signals. The Czech Government aims to prepare a Development Strategy for radio broadcasting in the country most likely in 2021, with the resolution of analogue FM broadcasting after 2025.

The Sangean WFR-30 is a desktop radio in a classic design, but despite its appearance it is a very modern radio. The WFR-30 is compatible with Internet radio, includes DAB+, supports Spotify Connect and incorporates a full-color 2.4-inch LCD screen.

The Council for Electronic Media (CEM) together with the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) held consultations with representatives of the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR), the Association of Bulgarian Broadcasters (ABRO) and FOCUS Radio in March 2017. The attitudes for future digital broadcasting in Bulgaria were discussed during the meeting.
