Media authorities in Germany have published their annual digitisation report, this year there are already 3.4 million people listening via DAB+. Almost 14 percent of the population listen via DAB+, about 2.1 million more people than last year. DAB+ radio devices are also available in five million German households and vehicles.

Pure presents the Evoke H3, H4 and H6, an evolution of the iconic Evoke range of digital radios. The new Evoke H3 (£129.99) and H4 (£169.99) available in both an oak and walnut finish along with the H6 (£199.99) in oak come with new colour screens, audio enhancements and Bluetooth connectivity for music streaming.

The findings of a recent analysis based on GfK data of the Association of Private Broadcasters and Telemedia (VPRT) has released ahead of the IFA. Revenues from radio and audio devices were up +4.9 percent at about 1 billion euros. Sales of DAB+ devices were worth around 52 million euros, up 35 percent.

Standard kit includes sat-nav, smart 18ins alloy wheels, part-leather seats, DAB radio, Bluetooth, cruise control and climate control.

Features include an eight-inch touchscreen, a pitch perfect sound system with DAB radio, sat nav, iPod integration and all the connectivity capabilities the fussiest of techno devotees could demand.

The digital radio in the car is excellent and it also has a CD player for those of us that do not use portable devices.

The S-Cross has sensors, a rear camera, a digital radio, satellite navigation, leather seats, automatic headlights, windscreen wipers, a panoramic glass sunroof and front parking sensors.

Connectivity in this model is much improved with Bluetooth and DAB digital radio fitted as standard, in addition to the five-inch touchscreen.

Libre Wireless Technologies, Inc., an embedded Wi-Fi and wireless solutions provider, is partnering with Silicon Labs. The companies will develop and produce a range of turn-key wireless DAB/DAB+ modules and software solutions for next generation radios and audio products featuring DAB/DAB+ combined with Wi-Fi connectivity and media streaming capability.
