In her report on the future role of the Ministry of Culture submitted to the Prime Minister, French member of parliament Aurore Bergé has voiced her support for the accelerated timetable for the rollout of DAB+ in France, to guarantee wide access to quality content.

Bauer Media has announced its launch of DAB+ digital radio services in Sweden in summer 2020, with multiplexes launching in cities of Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. The network will have a population reach of above 40% and will include ten DAB+ digital radio stations. Commenting on the announcement, Teemu Korhonen, distribution manager at Bauer Media said “DAB+ is the natural step for future-proofing and developing radio for listeners”.

Reasserting its commitments to the rollout of digital radio in with a budget of over 11 million euros for 2020, the media council of Baden-Württemberg - a state in southwest Germany - also announced its plans to launch a small-scale DAB+ trial in the region.
