DAB+ launches in Alfeld, Lower Saxony

DAB+ will be available to listeners in Alfeld, in the state of Lower Saxony, starting from 24 October. The new DAB+ transmitter will also supply a number of other locations in the state - namely Delligsen, Coppengrave, Hoyershausen and Duingen.

Temporary local DAB+ licences consultation launched in the Netherlands

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate has launched its consultation for the distribution of temporary DAB+ permits in the Netherlands, with the intention to launch 22 services by 31 August 2022. Interested parties have until 3 December to submit their applications.

German parliament adopts new DAB+ legislation

The revised telecoms law requires all new car radios to be able to receive digital terrestrial radio from 20th Dec 2020 – as required by the European Electronic Communications Code. The law also requires all new consumer radios, capable of displaying a station’s name, to be able to receive digital signals (for example, DAB+ or IP) – from the same date.

DAB+ in the Netherlands more popular amongst 25-65 year olds
