Austria's first children-only radio station takes off on DAB+

Austria's first radio station exclusively aimed at children has taken launched in Austria. First launched in Vienna in 2014, Mein Kinderradio is now available to 77% of people in Austria on DAB+.

New record for digital radio listening in the UK

Digital listening in the UK has increased by 11% to a new record of 58.5%, up from 52.6% in Q4 2018 in the latest figures for Q4 2019. Listening via DAB grew by 16.1 million hours (or by 4%) year on year to now account for 41% of all listening and 70% of digital listening.

Seventh DAB multiplex on air in Spain

Digital transmissions on DAB waveband, channel 9C, started in Tenerife in December 2019. The transmitter is located on the Teide, the highest active volcano in the Atlantic ocean and also the highest mountain in Spain (3.718 m). In total there are nine programmes transmitted on the multiplex.

Path cleared for second national multiplex in Germany
