DAB+ radio increasingly popular in Australia

New DAB trial to go on air in Vietnam
12.09.2019 - VietnamSystem integrator Emico and Paneda have signed an agreement for providing DAB multiplexer systems to the upcoming DAB trial in Vietnam. The system includes a full system in redundancy including content management for metadata. The system is planned to go on-air before the end of the year in the cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.

Bcast to exhibit DAB solutions at IBC 2019
11.09.2019 - Poland - NetherlandsWorldDAB member Bcast will be exhibiting a number of solutions on its stand at IBC, including Dabcast, a complete technical and intellectual infrastructure able to deliver an original, integral system of digital radio broadcasting in DAB+ standard. Its unique component, the DTX050 transmitter, will make its debut at the event in Amsterdam.

RTI organises digital radio event in Pilsen, Czech Republic
11.09.2019 - CzechiaRTI has announced that it will be hosting a digital radio event titled "Day with digital radio" in Pilsen on 14 September 2019. The event, where over 60 DAB+ receivers from 16 manufacturers will be on display, will take place at the Czech Radio Pilsen offices from 10:00-16.00.

Germany sees 34% increase in DAB+ users in 2019
10.09.2019 - GermanyThe number of households that listen to the radio through the digital radio standard DAB+ in Germany has increased by 34 percent in 2019, according to a report of the media authorities Die Medienanstalten. A total of 23 percent of all the households in the country use DAB+, the report added.

German-speaking DAB+ stations BRF1 and BRF2 go live in french-speaking Belgium
10.09.2019 - BelgiumBelgischer Rundfunk (BRF), the public-service broadcasting organisation serving the German-speaking community of Belgium, has announced the launch of two of its stations in french-speaking parts of Belgium. BRF1 and BRF2 are now available to DAB+ listeners in the Belgian regions of Liège, Namur, Luxembourg, Brabant and Brussels.

What's more, the number of cars equipped with DAB+ in Germany in 2019 stands at 6.6 million, compared to 4.4 million in 2018. The number of DAB+ stations on air is also on the rise, with 65 stations available exclusively on DAB+.
