Belgian station 7FM to rebrand and switch off FM services

Media Broadcast wins comprehensive transmitter maintenance contract from WDR

Media Broadcast has announced a comprehensive contract from Westdeutsche Rundfunk (WDR) to maintain WDR's terrestrial transmission and other equipment at 43 DAB+, DVB-T2 HD and VHF sites in North Rhine-Westphalia. The deal runs until September 2022 with an option for a two-year extension.

UK - Ofcom awards first small-scale DAB multiplex licences

Ofcom has announced the first ever awards of small-scale radio multiplex licences. Following a competitive process, where each applicant was judged against specific criteria, licences have been awarded in five areas - Derry/Londonderry to Foyle DAB Limited; Glasgow to Nation Digital Investments Limited; Salisbury to Muxcast One Limited; Tynemouth & South Shields to Mux One Limited; Welsh Valleys to GTFM (South Wales) Limited.

Tyneside to get 30 new DAB radio stations in a UK first

Mux One has been awarded one of the first new DAB licences which will result in around 30 extra radio stations in the north east of the UK. The licence will enable Mux One to build a new type of radio system that will bring a rollout of DAB stations to around 380,000 listeners.
