CSA remains committed to DAB+

At today’s SNRL annual General Assembly, CSA Advisor Patrice Gélinet called for a speedy deployment of DAB+ across France and insisted on the need to convince the Bureau de la Radio to move forward. “Arguments on the cost are no longer valid because DAB+ is much less than FM, not to mention AM…” A timetable will be published by the end of 2015, “We plan a launch around 2016. I cannot give a specific date, but I will fight for a launch for calls in early 2016” said Gélinet.

Coverage boost for DAB in the Plymouth area

Nottingham gets over 50% digital radio listening

The Nottinghamshire area is the first in the UK to have over 50% of radio listening take place via a digital platform. Digital Radio UK has welcomed the publication and CEO Ford Ennals says the numbers will grow as more transmitters area turned on: “It’s great news that the Nottingham multiplex area is the first in the UK where digital listening is over 50%. With 54% of adults having a DAB set, DAB technology has now achieved critical mass and there are more homes with a DAB set than are receiving TV either with Freeview or Sky”.

Norkring Belgium expands its DAB+ network
