In the fall of 2018, Deutschlandradio will be the first public service broadcaster in Germany to switch completely to a purely digital broadcasting technology with DAB + in two existing FM broadcasting areas. On Germany's only offshore island Helgoland (from 28 September) and in the region Mittenwald / Krün / Wallgau in the upper Isartal (from 4 October) and then the programs Deutschlandfunk, Deutschlandfunk culture and Deutschlandfunk Nova and the special channel documents and debates over Antenna receivable, together with the complete range of programs in the nationwide DAB + multiplex in channel 5C. Digital listening in Switzerland increased by 14 percentage points to 63% from autumn 2015 to spring 2018, according to a new report by broadcast regulator OFCOM Switzerland. The findings also showed a 14% drop in FM listening, with the regulator citing DAB+ as the key driver towards the increase in digital listening.
