The transmitter network for the first national DAB+ multiplex will gradually increase with six new locations from April 2022. Swiss radio broadcasters have decided to shut down FM as originally planned on 31 December 2024, according to a press release published by Digimig, the Swiss broadcaster working group on digital migration. On the same date, FM radio licences expire. From that date onwards, radio programmes will no longer be broadcast via FM. With the return to the original switch-off date, consumers have more time to switch technology.

Media company TEUTOCAST has been strengthened with the appointment of Jan-Uwe Brinkmann. Thanks to DAB+, NRW now has a diverse programme landscape with an attractive advertising inventory. TEUTOCAST aims to combine the power of of its nationwide marketing team, established national programmes FEMOTION RADIO, dpd DRIVER'S RADIO and SPORTRADIO DEUTSCHLAND as well as two new, regional radio offers. Said CEO Erwin Linnenbach: "This is a blueprint for the introduction of nationwide special-interest programmes related to the state - and with RAUDIO a completely new cross-media marketing genre."

DAB+ receiver sales and listeners continue to grow, with a key role being played by public broadcaster Czech radio who has implemented a strong DAB+ marketing campaign, and has launched DAB+ stations Radiožurnál Sport and, from 1 October, Rádio Pohoda. 95% of the Czech population can now receive Czech Radio radio stations on DAB+.

An on-air campaign to support digital radio in the Maltese Islands has been launched, offering listeners guidance on DAB+ devices and retuning. Listeners in Malta and Gozo can receive DAB+ radio thanks to a network of transmitters located across the Maltese Islands covering more than 90% of the population.

Sportradio Deutschland is the first national sports radio station in Germany - and now also a licence partner of the German Football League (Bundesliga). “We broadcast everything about sports around the clock,” says program director Alexander Fabian, “now the Bundesliga is also part of the sports weekend on Sportradio Deutschland".

Network operator Audio.digital NRW GmbH has added private radio broadcaster “egoFM” to their DAB+ network covering North Rhine-Westphalia for ten years. According to MD Christian Strohmeier, this will bring a potential audience of 18 million inhabitants in a largely urban region - the perfect audience for a station like egoFM.
