New radio frequency plan finally approved
21.04.2017 - BelgiumFrom mid-May candidate channels will be able to submit their applications to participate in the new radio landscape in Belgium. The Minister of Media, Sven Gatz is behind the plans, which have now been approved, to reform Flemish radio by moving broadcasting from FM analogue to DAB+ digital radio.

Internet consulting on auction of space above regional DAB+ capacity
21.04.2017 - NetherlandsThe Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Henk Kamp, has launched an internet consultation in response to the intention under article 3.10 of the Telecommunications Act to auction up regional DAB+ capability in layer 4. There are frequencies available in the three top regional allotments: eight licenses for Northwestern channel 9D, fourteen for Southwest channel 9D, and nine available for South channel 7A. As existing permits are not going to be extended, this is an opportunity for newcomers to get a license to broadcast on DAB+ digital radio.
