Digital radio mandated in all new cars in Germany

German Parliament has approved a law requiring all new cars sold in Germany starting from 21 December 2020 to be equipped with digital terrestrial radio capabilities. The new law is in line with the EECC directive mandating digital radio in cars across the EU.

Paneda has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Chiang Mai in Thailand. The MOU covers co-operations to explore the Paneda Emergency System over DAB. The University of ChiangMai will operate a DAB multiplexer system including live transmission, using DAB as carrier of important information to the public.

DAB+ network expands in Poland

The Polish Radio and Television Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has granted eleven new DAB+ licenses and extended 24 existing licenses for the multiplexes in Warsaw and Częstochowa. A new call for tenders for DAB+ licenses in Bydgoszcz, Kielce, Krakow, Łowicz, Łódź, Opole, Radom and Warsaw is also set to launch in coming months.

AirCheck Australia has taken a look at the top advertisers on DAB+ radio, and comparing the top advertisers on digital radio in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide & Perth, Coles was out in front with the help from Coles Radio. Combining the 5 cities, a total of 15,824 spots were placed on Coles' digital radio stations.

Radio Nova wants to take over RTÉ’s national DAB frequencies

Over 100 reply to Ofcom’s small scale DAB consultation
