The NRJ Group, which accounts for 11.3 million daily listeners, submitted its application for radio stations NRJ, Nostalgia, Darling and Rire & Chansons.

ARD, Deutschlandradio, private program providers, manufacturers and other members of the German Digital Radio Association are launching the most comprehensive DAB+ campaign to date. The cross-media campaign will be live from 26 November - 7 December, and promoted on air, on screen, in print and online.

Bayerische Rundfunk has announced it will open a new DAB + transmitter in Markt Wald for the supply of the Bavarian and regional programming in Swabia. The regional networks will further expand in Dingolfing (Lower Bavaria) as well as Burgsinn (Lower Franconia).

DAB+, which is set to replace FM across Belgium in coming years, requires less bandwidth to operate, offers an improved sound quality, and generates less electromagnetic radiation.

A new directive adopted by the EU will require car manufacturers to implement DAB+ in all new car models sold in Europe as of 2021. A two-year transition period ending in December 2020 is set to follow, at which point DAB+ radio will become a mandatory measure for all new cars sold across the EU member states.
