Norwegians bought a total of 965,000 DAB radios in 2016. An increase of 30.4 percent compared with 2015. 155,000 new cars were sold in Norway in 2016 and according to figures from Digitalradio Norway about 90 percent of these had DAB+ installed.

2017 started with the news that Norway is turning off FM and switching to DAB+. Digital radio via DAB+ offers the opportunity for a more diverse range of stations for listeners as well as improved listening quality.

On World Radio Day, OFCOM launched a promotional campaign to "support the transition to the new DAB+ digital broadcasting standard". The campaign highlights how 54% of listeners in Switzerland now listen to digital radio.
