DAB in mobiles by 2015?
14.06.2013 - United KingdomDigital radio broadcast chips could be fitted into mobile phones by 2015, according to Sir Hossein Yassaie, chief executive of Imagination Technologies, parent company of consumer electronics brand Pure. Speaking at this year’s Intellect Consumer Electronics Conference, Sir Hossein, whose company specialises in mobile graphics and chip technology, said: “Within a couple of years, the cost of a digital radio chip – as an additional component to other devices – will be sub-two dollars, so don’t be surprised if you see it in in mobile phones.”

Slovenian regulator launches digital radio consultations
14.06.2013 - SloveniaSlovenia's Agency for Post and Electronic Communications has invited all interested parties, especially radio stations, to participate in the public consultation on options for developing terrestrial digital radio. In Slovenia, T-DAB has so far only been allocated for radio frequencies from the Krvavec transmitter on block 12B, used by public broadcaster RTV Slovenija to air its radio stations RA SLO 1, RA SLO 2, RA SLO 3 and Radio Si.
