In the Eindhoven region a new DAB+ trial has been started since this week under the name 'DAB + 4 Brainport'. The broadcasts on channel 8A in the Eindhoven region last until 1 January 2018.

Trying to slow down the implementation of terrestrial digital radio, known as DAB radio, or its evolution, the DAB+, clearly means, at the threshold of the 21st century, swimming against the current, compared to what happens in the rest of the world.

THE two-day Asean Digital Radio Broadcasting workshop hosted by Radio Television Brunei (RTB) was officiated at the Kiulap Plaza Hotel yesterday. The speakers, well known in the field of digital radio broadcasting technology, were invited to present on the advancements in digital radio technology, the status of its users across the world and the challenges and implications of its implementation.

From 2020 until 2024 at the latest, DAB + (Digital Audio Broadcasting) will replace analogue FM reception. In addition to noise-free reception and a broader selection of programs, digital radio listening offers other advantages for listeners.

Creature comforts such as heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry/keyless go, a reversing camera, cruise control and an electronic parking brake are all included. There’s plenty of tech, too, with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, sat-nav, DAB radio, Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto making their way onto the list.
