Cambridge-based light therapy specialist Lumie is launching its most premium wake-up light. Lumie Bodyclock Luxe 750D is an upgrade on the Luxe 700, offering DAB radio in addition to Bluetooth and low-blue light to make it non-alerting at bedtime.

The ARD stand, managed by Hessischer Rundfunk (HR), the public broadcaster for the state of Hesse, will be showcasing digital radio to attendees at IAA, the leading international trade fair for mobility, transport and logistics.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has extended DAB+ Digital radio trial licences in Canberra and Darwin for 12 more months. Radio listeners in the Göttingen area are now getting their NDR programmes in even better quality. The new Göttingen DAB+ transmitter supplies the region between Northeim and Friedland in Lower Saxony. NDR's radio programs will also be received via DAB+ in Moringen, Hardegsen, Dransfeld, Rosdorf and Nörten-Hardenberg.

The last phase of Norway’s FM switch off is about to begin. On 15 September, P4 and Radio Norway will turn off their FM transmitters in Hordaland, Rogaland, Sogn og Fjordane, Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder. Then on 20 September, NRK's ​​FM channels in Oslo, Akershus, Østfold and Vestfold will be shut down. P4 and Radio Norway will continue to broadcast on FM in this area until Dec. 8.

The Flemish public broadcaster VRT will completely switch from DAB to DAB+ in November. The five radio stations Radio 1, Radio 2, Klara, MNM and Studio Brussels, which also broadcast on FM, will then switch from DAB to DAB+.

The WorldDAB Advances in Technology Session at this year’s IBC event in Amsterdam, from 15 to 19 September, is called "DAB at the core of radio's digital transformation". The session will focus on how digital audio broadcasting is driving the biggest shift in the radio industry.
