Lyca Radio given approval to drop news content to focus on DAB growth
07.08.2018 - United KingdomLondon radio station Lyca Radio will look to expand its DAB service offering after getting approval from UK regulator Ofcom to drop its weekday hourly local news on the AM bandwidth. In a statement, Lyca Radio cites Ofcom's policy to allow regional stations to share programming as a way to allow budgeting for the growth of DAB services.

Austria will receive national radio via DAB+ from 2019
06.08.2018 - Austria11 Radio stations have already signed up to broadcast via this DAB+ network, which by the end of 2020 can be received by almost 85% of the Austrians. The national DAB+ network will be rolled out in four phases from April 2019 to the autumn of 2020.

France's CSA explains national DAB+ rollout plans
06.08.2018 - FranceThe French broadcast regulator the Conseil Superieur de l’audiovisuel has launched a call for DAB+ applications at the national level for the first time, with the initial focus on developing services in the metropolitan regions of Brittany and Corsica and its surrounding highways. The tender is aimed at only national radio stations, and requires 90% of the motorway network to be covered within eight years, as well as 80% of Brittany, and 80% of Corsica’s territorial routes and 75% of its metropolitan population. The final date for submissions is 21 November.
