On 14 November 2018, the European Parliament adopted the new European Electronics Communication Code (ECC). According to this directive, all new car radios must be equipped with a receiver for digital terrestrial radio reception. This will make the long-demanded commitment of the automotive industry to the standard equipment of your new vehicles with DAB + digital radios a reality across the EU.

Representatives from the major automotive brands will gather in Rome on 15 November for a conference to determine the future integration of DAB+ digital radio in the car. Hosted by Italian broadcaster Rai, the day will be the first time that a day has been dedicated to discussing the future of car radio.

The trial will include all BBC radio services and test the listening experience between broadcast (FM, DAB, DAB+) and BBC metadata on the move.

International broadcasting service Radio Maria steps up investment to increase its DAB+ circulation in France. Present in 11 countries across Europe, Radio Maria already operates over 340 DAB+ multiplexes.

For the Flemish Minister of Media, Sven Gatz (Open VLD), the big radio stations will have to disappear from the FM band from here. The goal is to digitise the entire radio network in the north of the country. According to the first measures of the Ipsos office, one in five Flemings have gone digital.
