The CBAA Annual National Conference held in Melbourne last weekend called on the Federal Government to restore funding to two critical national projects for the community broadcasting sector.

The UK';s move to a digital radio future took one step closer today after Arqiva announced plans to invest £6 million in improving coverage to 1.5 million listeners.

Global Radio has signed a deal to transmit its Heart, Capital and Gold stations across each of the new local DAB multiplexes being launched by Arqiva, over the coming months.

Arqiva is investing £6 million to launch four new local multiplexes which will bring Digital Radio to over 1.5 million listeners in the heart of England. The company is working with the BBC, Global Radio and Oxford’s JACK fm to broadcast on the first multiplexes to launch since the Memorandum of Understanding on Digital Radio switchover was signed in June

BMW UK announced today that all new BMW models launched in the UK will have DAB digital radios fitted as standard across the entire range from January 2013. Currently BMW provides digital radio as an option on new models and as standard in some high-end models, including the 7 Series. This follows the decision of the BMW Group to fit new Minis with digital radio as standard from September 2010.
