Radio sales slump as listeners move online

Sales of analogue radios fell by 1.5million in the 12 months to the end of June, while DAB radio sales remained steady despite declining prices. Overall, 29.5 per cent of all radio is now listened to digitally, compared to 25.8 per cent a year ago and just 19.6 per cent in 2009.

Ofcom publishes Digital Radio Report 2012

For the quarter April-June 2012, 31.5% of all listening hours were to digital radio. DAB digital radio sets were the most widely-used method of listening to digital radio, accounting for 64.9% of all digital listening hours in the 12 months to the end of June 2012.

SRF-Radio on DAB+

For all radio listeners this means that after this switch to DAB+, a new channel scan will be set up in order to receive all programs properly.
