The European Digital Radio Alliance (EDRA) steering group met in London in early June, and discussed the continuing progress being made by digital radio across Europe. The new Chair, Travis Baxter, succeeds Helen Boaden from the BBC, and come from one of the major commercial broadcasting groups, Bauer. Over the years. Bauer has proved successful in taking advantage of the opportunities offered by digital radio, launching new services, and reaching out to a wider audience. Travis Baxter commented: "Pioneering work in some key European countries is providing a road map for other countries, demonstrating that it is possible to provide listeners with more choice and diversity within the radio sector, a medium that is hugely popular with listeners and which continues to reflect the culture of all the countries where is operates".

The Ambience spec includes DAB radio among its standard features.

Standard equipment on the sporty SRI VX-Line includes Vauxhall’s IntelliLink touchscreen infotainment system with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

With the amendment in the law, the Federal Government wants to boost the distribution of DAB digital radios. This now means that especially high-quality radios must either have a DAB+ chip installed or be able to receive internet radio.

The Conseil supérieur de l'audiovisuel plans to launch a call for applications in digital terrestrial radio (RNT) on Nantes and Rouen. The application proposes 11 new digital radio services in Rouen and 6 new services across Nantes. Responses to the public consultation should be addressed to the Higher Audiovisual Council no later than 6 July 2017.

We most definitively do not have NRK or TV2-standard, but a lot of viewers report back to us", he says."
