25% of all radio listening is now on DAB in the UK
05.02.2015 - United KingdomA quarter of all listening to the radio is now being done on a DAB radio set, according to the latest RAJAR results for Q4, 2014.
DAB listening in car grew by 29% year on year and total digital reach in car is now 7.6 million people per week. Almost 50 per cent of the population or 26 million adults now have access to a DAB digital radio, up 7% year on year.

Digital radio ready to take off

Ofcom announces two bids for second DAB multiplex
02.02.2015 - United KingdomOfcom has named Listen2Digital and Sound Digital in the running for the second national, commercial digital radio multiplex in the UK, which will deliver around 15 new national DAB stations from 2016. Ofcom invited applications in July 2014 to operate a new DAB multiplex and said bids will be assessed on the innovation they can bring to the UK radio industry and audiences.
