A boost to digital radio listening in first survey for 2015
13.03.2015 - AustraliaDigital radio listening has increased in the first survey for 2015 with 3.2 million people now listening to radio each week using a DAB+ digital radio in the five metropolitan capitals, according to GfK figures released by Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) today in the DAB+ quarterly update.

Czech Radio powers up to go digital
13.03.2015 - Czech Radio WorldDAB Member - CzechiaExperts at Czech Radio have unveiled a roadmap to guide the country's journey to digital radio output (DAB/DAB+).
The plan identifies appropriate legislation, national coordination, adequate financing, private sector engagement, support for quality content and new services, a solid information and marketing campaign and statutory support for DAB receivers as the 7 steps toward digital broadcasting in the Czech Republic.

Ofcom invites applications for Suffolk DAB
12.03.2015 - United KingdomOfcom has advertised a new local radio multiplex to provide DAB digital radio stations in Suffolk.
Ofcom will assess applications to run the new multiplex on Frequency Block 10C against specified criteria, including the proposed coverage area, timetable for launch and how services will broaden choice and cater to local tastes and interests.

Digital radio continues to grow in Italy
11.03.2015 - ItalyThe Ministry of Economic Development has began the procedure to assign the frequency blocks for local and national (commercial and public) digital radio services for the regions of Valle D’Aosta and Umbria, for Torino and Cuneo provinces, in Piedmont. This procedure will be closed the 20th of April 2015.

Only one in five cars have DAB, but the proportion is increasing rapidly
11.03.2015 - NorwayAs part of the ongoing digital survey TNS Gallup on behalf of Digital radio Norway 1,000 respondents were interviewed about digital radio and their listening habits. In the survey, respondents were asked about radio in the car. Presently, 63% of new cars in Norway come with digital radio.

Digital radio survey in France: 46% of those interviewed knew about DAB+
10.03.2015 - FranceA poll by Group SOS has revealed that almost half of the general public has heard about RNT (DAB+), with many also familiar with what it is - people are prepared to pay an average of €21 for a receiver.
