Austria: Why DAB+?

Nearly two months after the launch of DAB+ services in Vienna, Gernot Fischer, Managing Director of Digitalradio Austria emphasises in an interview with Der Standard the added value of DAB+. He reports that the estimated number of receiver sales to date is approximately 255,000 (excl. internet sales and in-car receivers), thanks to the strong collaboration with retail.

Consultation on DAB+ in North Rhine Westphalia announced

The Media Authority of North Rhine-Westphalia (LfM) have announced a consultation into DAB+. LfM Director Jürgen Meier Bride sees this enquiry as an opportunity to develop radio "LfM wants to help with the call to accelerate the process of digitisation and to create a larger digital and future-proof radio service for the citizens in NRW."
