Radiofonia Digitale Sardegna Forms in Italy

The association of local TV and radio broadcasters in Italy, Aeranti-Corallo has announced the establishment of a new consortium of local stations designed to encourage the development of digital radio in Sardinia. The stations cover the provinces of Cagliari, Nuoro, Ogliastra and Carbonia-Iglesias.

Switzerland: increased funding for radio

Cheesy FM and Crackers Radio to launch in Manchester

Cheese and Crackers are heading for Manchester in the form of two brand new DAB digital radio services for the city. Niocast Digital, operator of the trial multiplex in Manchester, has signed up the stations along with Sunrise Radio to start broadcasting on its minimux in the next couple of weeks.

More than half of Bauer Media's audience uses digital radio

Bauer has reported 55 percent of its total listening takes place via a digital device, as compared to the industry average of 44 percent. Bauer has seen a 12 percent increase year over year in its digital listeners—now at 11.3 million. Bauer Radio reaches 17.5 million listeners in total, a four percent increase year over year.

Retune your digital radios

Digital radio listeners in Manchester are being urged to retune their digital radios on Wednesday morning (25th May 2016) to ensure they continue to get a clean-feed following engineering works. The essential maintenance was carried out to boost and change the frequency of existing digital radio transmitters in the Manchester area and switching on two new transmitters, which will bring the area’s 11 local stations to 400,000 more listeners for the first time.

SCA to create a bespoke DAB+ radio station for Rio Olympics

SCA's Triple M Network will broadcast selected events from Seven’s multiple broadcast and streaming channel coverage during the games. SCA will also create a bespoke DAB+ radio station called 7 Rio Live to run a live audio simulcast from Seven from 5.30am to 1pm every day.
