UK digital radio fitment continues to rise
10.04.2015Digital Radio UK said on Friday 450,000 new cars were registered in Q1 2015 with digital radio (DAB) as standard, an increase of 100,000 over Q1 2104 and 130,000 over Q4 2014.

New stations proposed for Milton Keynes
09.04.2015 - United KingdomMKFM is leading a bid for a local DAB multiplex trial to operate six radio stations in the area. And with new type of multiplex ownership comes new ways of financing them – MKFM is offering free space to stations in return for three minutes per hour of commercial airtime which will be used to support the operating costs and marketing expenses for the duration of the nine-month trial.

DAB application and return for shock jock Penk
08.04.2015 - United KingdomA Cheshire business is looking to trial six new digital radio channels for Manchester in a move which could also see the return of Steve Penk and his wind-up channel. Chester-based Niocast Digital, led by experienced broadcast media pros David Duffy and John Evington has submitted an application to operate a DAB multiplex in Manchester as part of broadcast regulator Ofcom’s nine-month trial of small-scale digital radio.

NAIDOC week sees collaborative digital broadcast
08.04.2015 - AustraliaAustralia's First Nations digital radio broadcasters, 98.9 in Brisbane, Noongar in Perth, 3KND in Melbourne and Sydney's Koori Radio will come together during NAIDOC Week 2015 for a special, national community radio event. Utilising the CBAA’s Digital Radio Project infrastructure the four stations will collaborate to produce a 12-hour live special on 8 July celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples.
