Norway advises Arab broadcasters on digital radio transition strategy
16.10.2014 - - Arab States Broadcasting Union WorldDAB Member - NorwayOle Jørgen Torvmark, CEO of Digital radio Norway, represented Norway at the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) "Symposium on Digital Radio" conference in collaboration with WorldDMB, currently taking place in Tunis.
"Many Arab countries, especially in the Gulf are the size of Norway and hence our story is more interesting." said Torvmark.
The event was attended by over 70 delegates made up of Egyptian media, Pakistani media, as well as Russian, Italian and French media.

Radio Ilmwelle for Augsburg and Ingolstadt
16.10.2014 - GermanyBLM, the Bavarian commercial regulating authority, has awarded PN Medien GmbH a license to broadcast the station Radio Ilmwelle on DAB in the local DAB spectrum covering the areas of Augsburg and Ingolstadt. The station offers a programme round the clock with a ‘classic based Soft AC’ music format, and with oldies, rock and classics of the music history targets the audience of over 30. The station also delivers information regarding the regions of Ingolstadt, Augsburg, Pfaffenhofen, Neuburg/Schrobenhausen and Donauwörth.

Government to spend 10.7 million on digital radio campaign
15.10.2014 - DenmarkA campaign will be implemented to raise awareness of digital radio throughout Denmark. Government will be funding this campaign with the support of 10.7 million kr.
This precedes the FM switchover date of 2019.

The BBC is working with a coalition of global broadcasters – which includes UK commercial radio, the EBU, Clearchannel, Ibiquity, Emmis Interactive, NAB and Commercial Radio Australia – to research and develop ‘hybrid’ radio – a combination of internet and broadcast (DAB or FM) radio – for use in mobile phones.

Digital Radio Finds Place in the Car
