Norway reports stable listening figures following DSO
10.04.2018 - NorwayThe proportion of daily listeners on national channels has increased from 56.9 per cent in January 2018 to 57.4 per cent in March. The total listening time has increased over the same period from 71 to 74 minutes. "It has always been expected that radio broadcasting will stabilise from 2018. We can probably expect more stable listening figures in the future," says Director of Media Authority Mari Velsand.

Danish government will deploy FM channels in 2021
10.04.2018 - DenmarkThe Danish government announced on Thursday that it is time to switch off the FM radio, following the example of Norway. By the end of 2021, national broadcasters may only broadcast via DAB+. Denmark already decided in 2015 that FM would be switched off within two years, as soon as the percentage of digital listeners would exceed 50 percent. Currently, that percentage of DAB listeners is 38 percent.

Danish government proposes to shut down FM radio broadcasts by 2021
09.04.2018 - DenmarkThe Danish government recently announced new media policies, and among them is a proposal that the FM band be shut down by 2021, reports radionytt.se. The demise of the FM band will take place two years after 50% of radio listening takes place via digital platforms, or by 2021 at the latest. Use of digital radio sources is at 38% now.
