28.07.2019 - - National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission of Thailand WorldDAB Member - ThailandRadio experts from several countries across the ASEAN region attended the workshop on digital radio services implementation and business Models which took place on July 24 at Bangkok, Thailand. Speaking via video link, WorldDAB Vice President and CEO of Commercial Radio Australia Joan Warner congratulated Thailand on leading the way in the region following the launch of 20-month trial in Bangkok and the areas surrounding the capital, with a total of 11 stations on air.

DAB+ at the heart of radio broadcasting's future
26.07.2019 - GermanyCommenting on the Lower Saxony parliament's decision to end support for DAB+, WorldDAB president Patrick Hannon said the decision would have limited effects, if any at all, adding that with over 75 million receivers already sold worldwide, DAB+ has established itself as the central future platform for broadcasting. In Germany, over 12 million DAB+ receivers have already been sold.

French regulator gives further boost to DAB+
24.07.2019 - FranceIn another step towards the national rollout of DAB+ in France the CSA has announced it has accepted 68 out of the 105 applications received for further DAB+ stations in Paris, Marseille and Nice. Authorisations will be issued before the end of 2019.

DAB+ day at IFA 2019 launches major DAB+ promo campaign
24.07.2019 - GermanyStakeholders across the German radio industry come together at IFA Berlin on 5 September for a DAB+ themed day, which kicks off a major cross-platform DAB+ promo campaign in the lead up to Christmas. Germany now has more than 260 regional programmes broadcast on DAB+ and almost every second car off the assembly line now comes with DAB+.

CSA launches new call for tenders for 15 sites
24.07.2019 - FranceThe French regulator CSA has launched a new call for tenders for DAB+ licenses across a number of locations in France. Specifically, the call for tenders concerns the cities and regions of Amiens, Angers, Brest, Caen, Clermont-Ferrand, Limoges, Le Mans, Metz, Montpellier, Nancy, Nîmes, Perpignan, Reims, Rennes and Troyes. Interested parties should submit their applications to the CSA by 6 November 2019.
