CSA launches call for DAB+ applications at the national level in France
01.08.2018 - FranceThe French broadcast regulator the Conseil Superieur de l’audiovisuel has launched a call for DAB+ applications at the national level for the first time, with the initial focus on developing services in the metropolitan regions of Brittany and Corsica and its surrounding highways. The tender is aimed at only national radio stations, and requires 90% of the motorway network to be covered within eight years, as well as 80% of Brittany, and 80% of Corsica’s territorial routes and 75% of its metropolitan population. The final date for submissions is 21 November.

New DAB+ tenders launched in France
31.07.2018 - FranceThe CSA has officially launched the calls for applications in 13 new major regions of France, but also a metropolitan call for more than two national networks. In parallel, new services will launch in Lyon and Strasbourg by end of the year, authorisations have been issued for areas around Rouen and Nantes, and applications have been submitted for Bordeaux and Toulouse.

Association of Digital Broadcasters established in Ukraine
31.07.2018 - UkraineA new association has been established by the three companies that were given the first digital radio licences in Ukraine, aimed at defining and promoting the development of digital radio in the country. "We have created the All-Ukrainian Association of Digital Broadcasters in order to attract Ukrainians to use the new broadcast technology," newly appointed head Bogdan Bolkhovetsky said. "Membership is open to all digital broadcasters without exception, and we hope that by joint efforts we will overcome the path of adaptation of the new technology much faster than alone."
