Following an initial DAB+ trial in 2013, the second trial has been on air in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh since Oct 2019. The objectives of the trial are to evaluate coverage parameters and test signal and sound quality.
The current trial will be evaluated in 2020, with a report submitted to the government to get approval for further steps in 2021, and with the ambitious goal of converting from analogue to digital radio by 2025.
