The first Thailand Broadcasting Master Plan B.E. 2555 – 2559 (2012-2016) states strategies for terrestrial digital radio roll-out with key objectives:
1) Roadmap and policy for digital terrestrial radio roll-out within two years, after the adoption of the Master Plan
2) Broadcasting spectrum management policy and plan, as well as spectrum licensing framework for digital radio broadcasting within three years
3) At least 80% of households in major cities will be able to access digital terrestrial broadcast within five years.
The first National Digital Economy (DE) plan (2016-2018) also states the strategies for Digital Radio rollout that it should provide a digital radio network in Thailand within three years after the adoption of the DE plan.
The Second Broadcasting Master Plan B.E. 2563 – 2568 (2020 - 2025) in alignment with the DE plan, specifically appointed the trial operation of digital radio broadcasting as one of the key strategic plans in Strategy 1 regarding the Development of Audio Broadcasting Service in Thailand.
