As of May 2021, population coverage in France stands at 30%.
In January 2020, the French media regulator CSA, published a new DAB+ roadmap highlighting DAB+ developments plans for the 2020-2023 period. According to the new roadmap, calls for applications will be launched for 50 local allotments in that period of time – these primarily concern the cities of Dijon, Lyon, Marseille, Rennes, Caen, Nancy, Paris, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Poitiers and Toulouse.
In May 2020, the CSA published the list of broadcasters that will be allocated DAB+ frequencies as part of the launch of DAB+ in Nancy, northeastern France. 26 stations will be available to listeners in the region as part of the launch, scheduled for 2021.

DAB+ has hit the ground running in France and it is expected that by 2020, 70% of the French territory will be covered by DAB+. Calls for applications for the remaining 30 percent will also be launched in 2020, with launches planned for 2023.
