Federal government wants to promote digital radio

Germany's Ministry of Economics and Energy is working on initiatives for the promotion of digital radio DAB+ throughout the country. It recently put forward a draft recommendation that "high-quality radio receivers may only be traded if they are suitable for the reception of digital radio signals".

Final speakers announced for Doing the DAB Birmingham

DAB+: Two new locations in Hessen

Hessischer Rundfunk is all set to expand its DAB+ network to supply two additional locations in the German state of Hessen from summer 2017. The new sites will be at Biedenkopf Sackpfeife in the Rothaargebirge and Hoher Meissner in the north-east of Hesse.

The latest on DAB+ in the Netherlands

National commercial radio broadcasters in the Netherlands must apply for extensions to their current FM radio licences with associated DAB+ digital radio broadcasting rights by 24 April 2017. The licence extensions will cover the period from 1 September 2017 until 1 September 2022.

Deutschlandradio welcomes new DAB+ logo and marketing campaign

Last week, the ARD presented a new DAB+ logo that was developed in collaboration with Deutschlandradio. The association actively supports the new logo and has welcomed the launch of a nationwide marketing campaign to promote DAB+ radio, which is due to start on 2 May 2017.
