WorldDMB has announced the new name for the additional audio codec in Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB), which is currently in the final stages of ETSI standardisation. The international organization, which promotes all Eureka 147-based digital broadcasting technologies, has confirmed that DAB+ will be the worldwide name used by broadcasters, manufacturers and for consumers.

Digital Mobile Broadcasting in the form of DAB digital radio has been on air in Barcelona for eight years.

During the LA Radio! exhibition, which will be held in Paris from the 11-14 February 2007, visitors will have the possibility of assessing the quality of digital radio and mobile TV via a demonstration of DAB technologies set up by VDL.
