Pure has announced a special edition version of the Evoke D2 DAB radio, designed in partnership with Rob Ryan.

A twelve week cross media advertising campaign for digital radio DAB+ in North Rhine-Westphalia came to an end this month. The campaign was seen in 33 NRW cities as well as 18 information screens.

Pure is the first manufacturer to receive the Digital Radio tick mark for its digital radios. All its currently shipping radios for the home and the car including the Evoke and Highway in-car digital radio range have been approved to carry the tick mark, which has been devised to give consumers confidence that they are purchasing a radio that is ‘future ready’.

Dutch public broadcaster NPO is now transmitting images ("slides") via DAB+ on the majority of its programming channels.

Frontier Silicon, the world leader in technology solutions for Digital Radio receivers, is the first technology provider to receive formal approval that its automotive solutions are Digital Tick Mark compliant.

Volkswagen has announced it is set to introduce DAB digital radio systems in all of its new passenger car models in the UK, from the Volkswagen up! to the Volkswagen Phaeton.

It was announced today that automotive manufacturer Mercedes has launched its best-selling model with digital radio as standard. Minister for Culture, Communications and the Creative Industries Ed Vaizey said: “It’s good news that many car manufacturers are switching to digital as this provides drivers with a much greater choice of radio stations.”

Radio programme producers in Marseille, Nice and Paris will be able to open a new chapter in the history of French radio. Digital radio will permit existing programmes to extend their reach, will enable the development of new content and will help maintain diversity in radio programming.
