Norwegian network operator Norkring has signed an agreement with Paneda for DAB multiplexing. The new agreement enables both parties to offer complete solutions for DAB multiplexing and transmission.

COPENHAGEN — Denmark's Radio and Television Board has authorized new digital radio networks that will come on-air in October 2017. There will be capacity for multiple radio stations to have nation-wide access, according to slks.dk....

Listeners to Triple M on FM were given the cricket commentary. Listeners on DAB+ and online were, instead, given the non-stop rock that Triple M is famous for. Each cross-promoted the other. In Australia, this is a well-used technique. The ABC, the public service broadcaster, also carries sports output on AM while offering a different news program on DAB+ and online.

Since Dec. 17, listeners with digital radios have been able to receive Gelre FM, Best FM and FM Fun in a large part of Achterhoek, a region in the eastern part of the Netherlands.

Norway is set to become the first country in the world to switch off its FM radio networks in favour of DAB digital radio in 2017. The process will start on 11th January, 2017, when the region of Nordland will switch off FM networks, with each other region in the country following suit and making the switch at some point within the year.

The reception of the digital radio programs of the Südwestrundfunk (SWR) in the south-west of Baden-Württemberg and especially at the Hochrhein have been massively improved before Christmas 2016. This is due to the commissioning of new DAB + transmitter sites at the Hochrhein.

In the case of radio, the digital transmission method DAB+ is gaining in popularity with DAB+ radios becoming a very popular gift this Christmas. In addition to digital sound quality, DAB+ offers an ever greater variety of programmes and stations.

From 31 January 2017, the RAS (Radiotelevisione special agency) will switch from broadcasting in DAB to DAB+. RAS has also further expanded the reception of DAB+ stations in South Tyrol with quality reception now reaching 99.3% of the South Tyrolean population.

The community radio service was recently added to the London minimux and is already on a number of digital platforms around the South and as far north as Birmingham. The station plays a mixture of nostalgic music from the 1920s to the early 1960s...
