ARD to help digital radio to success with new DAB+ logo
18.04.2017 - GermanyThe digital radio standard DAB+ has received a new logo and branding in Germany. Creative agency Scholz & Friends partnered with ARD for the rebranding which has recently been launched, with a nationwide marketing campaign to follow, starting on 2 May 2017.

DAB+ in the Netherlands
17.04.2017 - NetherlandsDAB+ digital radio is growing steadily in the Netherlands. According to figures recently released by WorldDAB, 581,000 DAB digital radio receivers have now been sold in the Netherlands. The country currently has two national multiplexes - one with public stations, the other private stations - and 11 regional multiplexes broadcasting both public and private radio stations.

Germany's federal government working to promote digital radio
17.04.2017 - GermanyGermany's Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) is working to promote digital radio services by mandating certain features in new radios. Their draft recommendation recommends that high-quality radio receivers may only be sold if they are suitable for the reception of digital signals.

Over to DAB at the cabin
16.04.2017 - NorwayJust after Easter, NRK, P4 and Radio Norway conclude their broadcasts on the FM network across most of Norway. Currently, there are many older FM radios in Norwegian cabins, but the vast majority of these cabins are in areas with good DAB coverage. Digitalradio Norway has advised those with cabins to use Easter to check that they are DAB ready.

Over 50 million receivers sold: advancement of DAB in Europe and Asia Pacific
13.04.2017Recent figures from WorldDAB illustrate the advancement of DAB radio: 53 million DAB receivers (including those in new car models) were sold by the end of 2016, coverage of the DAB signal is now over 95% of the population in five European countries, and the consumption of digital radio is more than 50% of the public in Norway, the UK and Switzerland.
