Day of digital radio in Czech Republic

Digital radio is increasing in cars across Europe

More than 1.7 million new cars with DAB as standard took to the road in Europe in the first half of 2016. Germany, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom and Switzerland recorded a large increase in the number of new cars with a DAB+ receiver. In September 2016, 86% of new vehicles are equipped with DAB+ in the UK.

In-car DAB radio adoption is up across Europe

Figures released recently show that DAB adoption in the car is growing in key markets across Europe — with over 1.7 million new cars sold with DAB in the first half of 2016 (compared to 2.7 million for the whole of 2015). Across eight countries surveyed, 31% of new cars now come with DAB as standard equipment — with all eight markets showing an increase in adoption rates compared to 2015.

A new report, commissioned by WorldDAB and carried out by JATO Dynamics, shows that more than 1.7 million new cars sold in the first half of 2016 featured DAB (for the whole of 2015, 2.7 million cars were sold with DAB). Eight countries were surveyed as part of the study and all of them saw an increase in adoption rates compared to 2015, with 31 percent of all new cars now offering DAB as standard.
