LMK plans entry of private DAB+ supply in Rhineland-Palatinate - Round Table
05.09.2018 - GermanyThe State Center for Media and Communications Rhineland-Palatinate (LMK) and the State Chancellery Rhineland-Palatinate intend to conduct a round table discussion at the end of October 2018 to design the future DAB+ supply in the country. According to the LMK, the entry of a private DAB+ supply in Rhineland-Palatinate could significantly increase the attractiveness of Digital Broadcasting via DAB + from 2020 with a new variety of programmes.

05.09.2018 - AustraliaSales of in-car DAB+ radios have grown in the last six months in Australia, according to new GfK research. Growth of six percent in the first half of 2018 was reported, with consumers opting for these devices to have a greater choice of programming while in the car, and also in prospect to further digital integration as seen in Norway.

DAB+ listening increasing in Malta, according to new study
05.09.2018 - MaltaTen years since DAB+ was first introduced to Malta, a new study has shown that 60,000 people now listen to radio via a digital means, as new programming choices have become available. The study by Broadcasting Authority Malta shows that 13.4% of Maltese people have access to a DAB+ radio.

Germany: Nearly 12 million DAB+ receivers sold

DAB+ penetration on rise in Germany
04.09.2018 - GermanyOver half of Germans over the age of 14 have access to digital radio devices with DAB+, IP, web radio, satellite or digital cable reception, according to a new report on digitisation from the Medienanstalten, the association of Germany’s state media regulators, presented at the IFA trade fair in Berlin. While fewer Germans continue to listen to the radio via satellite or cable than in the past, the penetration of radio via DAB+ and IP has increased by 15 percent and 13 percent over the past year respectively.
