The WorldDMB Forum reports an update on the South African DAB+ trial, which will be conducted by the Southern African Digital Broadcasting Association in conjunction with the National Association of Broadcasters. The trial will consist of two high power transmitter stations in Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Since 1 October last year, Polish Radio channels (Radios One, Two, Three and Four) as well as Polish Radio External Service are available in DAB+. To celebrate Polish Radio reaching over 5000 followers on Facebook a competition has been launched to think up a slogan for the new DAB+ English language broadcasts and win Polish Radio goodies

Speakers from SNRL (National Union of Free Radios) will be participating in three sessions during Salon de la Radio during which delegates will gain insight into the roll out of digital radio in France.

While some smartphones today offer the possibility to listen to the radio via mobile, Australian commercial radio stations are now trying to encourage mobile phone companies to install DAB+ digital chips. In exchange for the eventual integration of this chip, Commercial Radio Australia Ltd have agreed to engage on all commercial stations, an advertising campaign several million dollars to promote digital radio on the Samsung Galaxy.

A DAB+ test is scheduled for Johannesburg and Pretoria, South Africa, according to WorldDMB News. After coverage verification tests, the two transmitters will operate as a single frequency network in VHF band III, on channel 13F at 239.2MHz.

It's just been announced that LBC is going to go national on February 11th. We will be transmitting on the National Digital One DAB platform meaning that for the first time all our programmes can be heard all over the country.
