Digital radio body RadioDNS is developing plans that would allow customers to tag audio content they're listening to in their cars, one of several measures mooted aimed at making it easier for advertisers to evaluate their digital radio spend.

South African radio broadcasters are set to start trialling digital radio channels using the DAB standard, the Sunday Times reported. The Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) standard has been in use since the 1990s, and its successor, DAB+, was introduced in 2007.

Mobile TV Netherlands (MTVNL) is preparing to broadcast mobile TV via the DAB standard, Totaal TV. Tests are being conducted in a number of regions. MTVNL received in 2009 one of the two licenses available for mobile TV. The plan to broadcast in T-DMB was not realised. To receive TV, tablets and smartphones need an adapter.
