Für die Autoindustrie wird Digitalradio DAB+ immer wichtiger. Dies ist das Ergebnis der internationalen Automotive-Tagung des Digitalradio Weltverbandes WorldDAB in München. Prominente Teilnehmer aus den Bereichen Autohersteller, Programmanbieter und Regulierer diskutierten über die zunehmende Nutzung von DAB+ im Auto. Auf der Veranstaltung wurden auch die Ergebnisse der „WorldDAB User Experience“ Untersuchung von DAB+ Autoradios veröffentlicht.

Wireless Group has launched a summer-themed radio station in Scotland, to complement its three seasonal stations in England and Wales. Starting today, Scottish Summer Sun Radio is broadcasting until August 20th on the Central Scotland, Aberdeen and Ayrshire DAB digital radio multiplexes.

Thames Radio is converting itself to a non-stop music station, as management tells all presenters not to record any more shows. The service is unique in that it doesn’t have actual studios in London, instead allowing its presenters to record/VT programmes in their own facilities and upload them to the station’s servers in Wales. According to the latest RAJAR, Thames Radio has 4,000 weekly listeners.
