Bavaria Radio: DAB+ is Only Economical Terrestrial Radio Over Next Decade

A report commissioned by the Bavarian Regulator for Commercial Broadcasting and Bavaria radio was presented during the "Radio is Digital" event taking place in Munich in March 2014. The report, authored by Professor Dr. Gunther Friedl of the Technical University of Munich, concludes that over the next 10 to 15 years DAB+ will be the only economically feasible means of terrestrial radio.

The expansion of digital radio broadcasting DAB + network in Bavaria has a promising future, affordable and consumer-friendly. This is the result an opinion of the Technical University of Munich. To rely on the transmission standard LTE, 40 times would be more expensive. The nationwide expansion of DAB + is "the economically sensible and only way" to allow for the foreseeable future in Bavaria an almost complete terrestrial digital radio supply.

Allianz launches digital radio campaign in NRW

BBC National Digital Radio Coverage Improves In Four Areas

The next phase of the BBC’s digital radio network expansion plan will bring a further 2 million people into the coverage area with an additional 162 transmitters.
