From today, radio listeners in Wast Friesland will be able to receive their NDR stations on DAB+. In addition to NDR stations such as NR1 Niedersachsen, NDR Kultur, NDR Info and N-JOY, listeners will be able to tune into exclusive digitalchannels NDR Blue NDR Traffic and NDR Ifoo Special heard.

Town and Country Broadcasting is launching two new radio stations in the next couple of months, Nation Xmas and Nation Gold. The Christmas station will launch 1st December on DAB in Cardiff/Newport and the Mid and West Wales Multiplex in mono.

Launching on Monday 28th December, Nation Gold from Town & Country Broadcasting will be available to listeners in the Cardiff and Newport area as well as across many parts of south western Wales on DAB digital radio.

NRK has decided to improve DAB coverage at various locations in Finnmark, as well as along major roads during 2016. The coverage will also be reinforced in certain towns where coverage is weak.

Mediasat is a newcomer to the digital radio field. Under the brand Lenuss they have brought out six DAB+ receiver models with different colours and Bluetooth.

At today’s SNRL annual General Assembly, CSA Advisor Patrice Gélinet called for a speedy deployment of DAB+ across France and insisted on the need to convince the Bureau de la Radio to move forward. “Arguments on the cost are no longer valid because DAB+ is much less than FM, not to mention AM…” A timetable will be published by the end of 2015, “We plan a launch around 2016. I cannot give a specific date, but I will fight for a launch for calls in early 2016” said Gélinet.

Make Plain recently confused passers by with an appearance in front of the Kursaal in Locarno. The Ticino folk music duo showed what happens when radio falls silent. The DAB+ campaign went hand-in-hand with a draw for a DAB+ radio with a Ford Fiesta attached.

Ravensburg can now receive DAB+. In addition to radio listening with better reception and sound, DAB+ offers a comprehensive mix of regional and nationwide programs.

The coverage boost will come courtesy of three new transmitters going live: North Hessary Tor (for Tavistock), Poron (Millpoint/Torpoint) and Ivybridge, part of a process that when complete will see local DAB coverage being boosted to cover over 90% of households in the Plymouth area.
