DAB+ gains ground in western Germany
20.03.2019 - GermanyThe committee of the North Rhine-Westphalia Regional Media Council has approved the application for two DAB+ multiplex for the West German state. Last year, the regional media council organised a call for tenders, with 47 parties expressing interest in a DAB+ broadcasting licence.

NLO changes reporting methods to reflect rise of digital radio
20.03.2019 - NetherlandsThe Dutch National Listening Research Institute (NLO) has updated its reporting methods on radio listening habits in the Netherlands to reflect the rise of digital radio listening. In addition to listening figures for individual radio stations, the NLO now also includes figures on the channels through which radio listening takes place, such as DAB+ and online.

Polestar says new model will have DAB+, FM but no AM
20.03.2019 - SwedenThe pre-production model of the compact, electric automobile will offer access to DAB, DAB+ as well as FM radio and streaming audio content. For the United States market it will support SiriusXM satellite radio. The Polestar 2 was unveiled at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show earlier this month.

Switzerland starts training for installers of automotive aftermarket DAB+ radios
19.03.2019 - SwitzerlandIn order to prepare its members for the post-FM era, the Auto Trade Association of Switzerland (AGVS) will be conducting two certified DAB+ training courses this April. Over the course of the day, attendees will be able to learn about the benefits offered by DAB+, and how to adapt in-car radios to DAB+. It is believed that approximately 3.5 million vehicles in Switzerland will have to be adapted to fit DAB+ capabilities.

Italy journey to digitisation boosted with launch of popular stations on DAB+
15.03.2019 - EuroDab Italia WorldDAB Member - ItalyItaly's most listened to radio station RTL 102.5 has been added to EuroDAB Italia's national multiplex, alongside new stations RTL News Salute, RTL Rewind and Subasio XL. The national multiplex, which has been operating since 2001, is currently available for approximately 80% of the Italian population.

Telmaco and Factum Radioscape complete first official DAB+ Multiplex in Greece
13.03.2019 - Factum Radioscape - GreeceSystem integrator Telmaco and DAB+ head-end manufacturer Factum Radioscape were selected by Greece’s public broadcaster ERT to install the first permanent national multiplex for DAB+ radio. Building upon the success of the pilot project in 2018, ERT continue broadcasting seven radio programs in DAB+ across Athens using Factum Radioscape’s ENMUXA DAB+ System.
