Klassik Radio heralds a shutdown of FM in Germany from 2016
08.09.2015 - GermanyKlassik Radio to shut down 22 FM frequencies throughout the federal territory from 1 September 2015. This will lead to significant distribution cost savings from 2016. Much like cable operators with the shut down of analogue TV, this signals that the future of radio broadcasting is clearly digital. FM has long been out of date, DAB+ is in many respects superior to analogue, offering clearer sound and possibility to transmit accompanying images.

Gold to replace XFM on local DAB multiplexes
