A digital radio unit has been fitted into a tractor owned by a local farmer at Halfords in Redhill to mark the launch of an in-car digital radio pilot scheme.

Croatia's Electronic Media Agency (AEM) has announced the 16 radio stations that will start broadcasting over DAB+. This follows a call for expression of interest to all registered radio broadcasters.

With the technical support of RadioKing, you will be able to follow a live audio stream and many podcasts of the WorldDAB General Assembly, 7-8 November in Paris.

To mark the launch of the pilot which is taking place exclusively in Surrey for three months from 16 October - and to demonstrate that any vehicle can be upgraded to a digital radio – a digital radio unit was fitted into a tractor owned by local farmer, John Nicholas, at Halfords in Redhill at the launch event.

The DAB+ session which took place within the newly branded conference in Australia featured presentations from DIgital Radio UK, Radio DNS, Xperi and RadioApp.

Available to download as an infographic here, the WorldDAB report includes statistics on receiver sales, road and population coverage, household penetration and the number of national stations on DAB/DAB+ compared to FM. The report covers Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland and the UK, along with DAB rollout status for emerging markets in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Croatia will start a one-year DAB+ test at the end of November. The Medienanstalt has now published the list of the 16 private radio stations that will participate in it. A selection decision had to be taken as a total of 25 applications had been received, but only 16 were available.

The Go Digital Car conversion pilot in Surrey has been put together and coordinated by Digital Radio UK, and sees local broadcasters, garages and retailers working together to make it easier for drivers to get DAB digital radio in their car.
