Manchester's Key 103 is to become "Hits Radio" and become available on various local DAB multiplexes across the country. Hits Radio will go live on 4 June 2018.

Broadcasting authorities in Russia are considering the introduction of DAB+ radio in the country, following consultations held last Monday. The State Commission on Radio Frequencies has decided that the frequency bandwidth of 175,872-228,128 MHz will be allocated to digital radio, as part of its proposal.

Swiss regulator Bakom has announced that there are about 3.5 million DAB+ devices in circulation in Switzerland. This is following reports that in 2017, nearly 600,000 DAB+ radios were purchased, and that around 85% of all new vehicles sold are now pre-fit with a DAB+ radio.

Initially, Denmark only wanted to begin a transition to digital radio after digital listening figures exceeded 50% (currently at 36%). But the Danish Ministry of Culture is proposing that FM should be switched off two years after it has been determined that the 50 percent threshold has been exceeded, but that switchover should occur if the target isn't reached by 2021.

DAB radios are now fitted into the new models introduced in the Toyota Hilux range - Rogue, Rugged and Rugged X.

All three trim levels have a generous list of standard equipment that includes climate control, parking sensors and 18-inch alloy wheels, plus VW’s Discover Navigation infotainment system with DAB and Bluetooth connectivity.

Manchester radio station Key 103 is to be renamed Hits Radio, as part of a multi-million pound investment from Bauer Media to make the station its fourth national radio offering on DAB.

The new station Hits Radio will begin broadcasting at 6am on Monday 4 June on DAB+, and will be the fourth national station launched by Bauer Media, and the first based out of Manchester.

Bauer Media have unveiled plans for a brand new national DAB station set to launch in the UK at 6am on 4 June in the UK. Hits Radio will be the first major national commercial digital radio station to broadcast out of Manchester.

Major changes are heading to Bauer’s Big City Network in June, including a new national DAB station called Hits Radio broadcasting from Manchester from 4 June. Hits Radio is to replace The Hits on local DAB multiplexes around the UK, and be available along side Bauer’s FM stations.
